Preowned figure - Mandarake UmedaPreowned figure - Mandarake UmedaReview

Hi everybody!

Today I'm gonna share with you my impressions about one of my last purchases, the figure of Celica "Punk Cat" made by Konami.
Celica was a Holy Grail for me, every time I saw her she was either already sold out or pricey. Long time ago, I somehow gave up getting her and put her on a list of "unreachable figures" such as ITEM #5878, ITEM #42031 or ITEM #41779.
Therefore, when I found her at Mandarake Umeda, opened, for only 2500¥, I didn't think too much before ordering her. For that price, it wouldn't have been a big deal if the figure was damaged, if pieces were missing, if there was paint transfer and so on. I would have cried a bit, that's all.
I must say that, compared to Amiami, Mandarake doesn't give a lot of information on the items they're selling. I guess it's a matter of luck when you buy opened goods. It was my first opened figure with Mandarake. Now that I've got Celica, I think Amiami would have ranked this one as B/C (but it's only my opinion).

Let's have a look at my Celica now!

THE BOX:

When I took off the bubble-wrapping, I discovered a damaged box as expected, but not that much:

The box is clearly damaged here:

I can say it's ok, because boxes are not what I prefer! Of course, some boxes are beautiful and it can be nice to display them in a corner of the room but, in that case, I won't miss it once it will be stored apart.

THE FIGURE ITSELF:

As you can see, no part is missing:

Honestly, for 2500¥, I expected a figure in a bad condition.
Celica wasn't put back in the blister, neither her different arms. Only the vinyl was. Looking at her, I discovered some dust on her skirt and the top of her head. There is also a paint transfer on one of her arm, but it's really tiny. In the whole, she was in very good condition:

I tried to shot the dust, but with my mobile phone it's blurred:

And now, MFC members, my good fellows, let me show you my Celica... after cleaning:

She's a beauty, isn't she?
Her upper body:

Her skirt and top of head (where the dust was... I'm not sure that you can see the difference)

Her wonderful legs and boots:

Her other arms:

The base shows maybe that it's a preowned figure:

Last but not least, the only stumbling block is that she stinks the cigarette smoke. For now, I display her outside a vitrine, hoping the smell will fade away slowly... BUT I DON'T COMPLAIN! I'm totally charmed by Celica, she's as cool as I thought. Yes, I love my "Punk Cat" and I thank Mandarake Umeda!

Here we are. Bye!

I didn't realize before how many display options she has and that she comes with so much arms! Very cool! ^w^

You were very Lucky with this C grade figure! I while back I also saw a highly wishlisted figure of mine in C-grade, but didn't want to take the risk since I was afraid she would be missing parts! >.<

Wow a BeatMania figure! She's so cool! :)

You did a great job refurbishing her, and for $25 it was such a good deal! As far as the smell goes, it won't completely fade but I'm sure somebody on MFC will have knowledge of removing scents from figures.
