I've had experience buying from an eBay store called "Hit-Japan" stores.ebay.com.... So far, it seems reliable and buyer reviews overall have been positive.
However, I've read that certain old, Top Rated eBay stores with high positive feedback still occasionally sell counterfeit items, their excuse being that 'I was told it was genuine'.
I'm particularly interested in rare and out of print anime and manga art books, and by the way, I've already done my own research.
I would use eBay more often if it wasn't so unreliable. If you suggest particular trustworthy sellers, even from other websites, I would really appreciate it, especially if your recommendation is based on personal experience.

But the last time I bought anything from him was 2-3 years ago because I was blocked by him to purchase multiple items for no reason. Back then he offered free SAL shipping for purchases >$100. I combined lots of books until the total >$100 for 2 shipments. That's the only reason I can think of for him blocking me from bidding/buying multiple items at one go.
Hes really kind even willing to look up items for you and post thrm on ebay. He can be found on fb as well
Oh seems he has been mentioned. Guess i agree then xD
His prices shift pretty often, and he does sometimes have a Best Offer option, so it's best to watch his items for awhile until it's a price you're OK with.
He gets in some pretty hard to find stuff.
I second this seller. Regarding the 'best offer', I've noticed that if you're already ordering a good chunk of stuff from him, he's pretty likely to accept a low best offer price.
They're very nice, I've been using them for years.

If you must use eBay, Otaku.com is a reliable seller, though their items tend to be cheaper at their own shop.
