i still want to watch it with perfect subs next time

That's true, a good majority of fansubs are absolutely terrible but when you know where to find the good ones they can (and often will) end up being better than officials.
Besides, good fansub teams usually go the extra mile to translate every single sign and board of a show and seamlessly integrate them into the picture. Official fansubs usually only do the most prominent one but are often unable to integrate them elegantly because of technical limitations of stream/blu-ray. For the Monogatari Series that relies so heavily on signs it's a no-brainer to me.

Unfortunatly, the fact that a translation is official doesn't garantee it will be perfect or the best one available.

Another source that's helpful is to go to the Anime News Network Forum Index---> Industry---> Retail. Once there go downward to the 18th topic that reads: [JP/HK/TW/KR] DVD/Blu-ray Release List with [EngSub] and/or [EngDub]
    [ Goto pageGoto page: 1 ... 25, 26, 27 ]

The column contributor is a gentleman whose initials are WTK. This man is knowledgeable about what Japan BD releases have English subs or do not. You can even email him or post questions in that section (maybe) with questions if you're unsure or don't find the answers in those columns. He will respond in kind within 48 hours. I have asked a few times over the years and WTK has always responded.

If you click on the very first posting of WTK on page 1 you will see a header outlined in bold letters: Google Docs Table link. Click on that. The anime listings are in alphabetical order and it's a continuous work in progress. You do not have to be a subscriber to ANN but you may have to register if you haven't already done so.

99 out of 100 times you won't get one with official english subtitles if you purchase directly from Japan. However that can be easily rectified with user created subtitles from subtitling groups. Here are two websites that I use:

    subs.com.ru/

    kitsunekko.net/...

Then use MKVToolNIX to mux in the subtitles after you've used MakeMKV to rip them to your computer (if you are going that route).

Sorry I can't help you answer this question, but I will say one thing about japanese blu-rays/ dvds. Usually any international or english website will tell you if the dvd has subtitles. I don't know if I'm allowed to list shops but two I use to buy cds and dvds/blu rays from are CDJapan and Yesasia. They both list if the dvd has subtitles (sometimes in big letters) next to the dvds title. I hope this is helpful. :)
