What up, my glip glops? ChocolateSpider here with another figure review. Today we will be taking a look at the recently released Nendoroid of Tracer from the globally popular, multiplayer first-person shooter game, "Overwatch." You can read this article with higher resolution images on my WordPress page.

Tracer is essentially the mascot of this game and a fan favorite. Armed with her Pulse Pistols, Pulse Bombs and the ability to speed up or slow down her own time, she is ready to zip around the battlefield and confound her foes.

The box has the traditional design used with the majority of Nendoroids. It features the color scheme of the character along with several pictures of poses from the series for you to put her in.

She comes with a total of three alternative face: side glancing with a smile, standard expression and looking up with parted lips. The faces are made quite nicely. The eye decals are crisp and you can even see they added some blush to her cheeks.

With the combination of accessories, faces and the super-movable style Nendoroid body, this little cutie offers many options for the poses you can put her in.

The super-movable line of Nendoroids has been a hit and miss with its prior releases. Some have problems with parts falling off and difficult to manage areas, but I have had no issues of the sort with Tracer. Some major improvements in joint construction and reinforcement have been implemented in Tracer, making it seem that GoodSmile has finally figured out how to make an effective super-movable style Nendoroid body.

Even the front part of her hair is articulated. This is so you can recreate her heroic highlight where she blows her hair out of her face.

If you want to take pictures of her in a more casual setting, you can remove her goggles.

I am quite happy to see that like the character, this Nendoroid has a cute butt. Tracer's shapely buttocks has become rather famous in the fandom, so I am glad to see that detail was incorporated into this figure. It is a bit ridiculous how much I am anticipating to see Nendo-Widowmaker's butt.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/09/26/1836358.jpeg

Let's take a look at all of her accessories and what we can do with them. She comes with three pairs of hands, pulse pistols, a pulse bomb, a bent leg for running poses, an effect part for her blink ability where she zips around at high speeds and a special stand adapter to hold said effect piece.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/09/26/1836355.jpeg

Her pulse pistols are nicely painted and detailed, but you can see some spots where the paint job gets a little blotchy. But it really isn't that noticeable in person.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/09/26/1836359.jpeg

The second and third pair of hands can be used to hold her pulse pistols. The second pair are standard gun wielding hands for when she is shooting at her foes. The third pair are open palms with her fingers spread out. This set of hands is used to pose her twirling her guns like she does when using her recall ability. But you can use these just for gun twirling so she can be a showoff or giving other Nendoroids a high five.

The paint job with the pulse bomb is actually pretty crisp. It would have been nice if it had an explosion effect to go with it, but there are several diorama products that can be used instead.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/09/26/1836360.jpeg

I enjoy using her blink effect. The adapter for it is also quite useful on its own because the top half can be adjusted left and right. The effect piece fits in a small crevasse and holds on tight without causing much scratching.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/09/26/1836357.jpeg

Since the effect piece is transparent, it does not work so well in dark colored backgrounds. In the game, the effect is shown as a bright blue light. Since this is just a plastic sheet, it will darken and be a bit difficult to see if you have it somewhere like a black bookcase. It looks pretty good with a white backdrop or if you have some back light though.

All in all, this is a most welcome addition to my Nendoroid collection and a great start to my set of Overwatch merchandise. It is super adorable and lots of fun to pose. I am looking forward to seeing how Mercy and Mei's Nendoroid turn out.

Great review, awesome pictures!

Regarding the articulation, I think it is really well made. I can't complain about parts falling off too, it may feel a bit loose (at the hip area) but that's abut it. She is standing great, I can easily change her poses and nothing is falling off, no frustration here. Her articulated bang is also very well made.

I'm in the same boat with you on all the Overwatch media, except I haven't actually played the game yet myself. I've enjoyed the comics, the story and its characters, but I'll be seeing how I feel about the game this weekend once my copy is delivered.

In regards to Tracer's body, it looks like GoodSmile has figured out how to effectively pull off a super-movable body design. I've had no issues with parts falling off. This line of Nendoroids has been a hit and miss with some of the earlier ones, but it looks like future super-movables can be expected to be much better. :)

I really like this review. Right now, I am fighting with my buying impulse to order this. I like Overwatch characters design, the movies, (I haven't read the comics yet, but I'm sure it's good) the game animations, the skins, the voice acting, etc. The only thing I don'tlike about the game is...the game. (I'm not into multiplayer, so too bad for me.) So, it would be against my rules to buy her and Mercy (another favorite that I really want to buy).
Why are you making it so hard, you glip glop?!
Curiosity like that, since she is another supermoveable nendo and GSC seems to push this model, would you say she is well made? I have Marth's nendo and his arm constantly fall where his elbow joint is. On the other hand I have Kamui's and her joints are solid, yet smooth and have good range, so near perfection for me.

I haven't played the game myself, but I do quite enjoy the narrative of the series and its characters. :3

Cantisama2 vuotta sitten#26477663Great review! The pics you included are fun and nicely highlight all the features of this figure.
Nendo Tracer came out well. I especially like the style used for her faces, a mix between typical Nendo and realistic. Her elbows seem a bit awkward, but otherwise I don't see any major issues. I was tempted to get this despite not being a fan of the game.
