Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking a look at my blog!
I just wanted to share a few things today. The most outstanding being my recent loot and the other being a short thought on MFC and the anime community in general.
There's a lot of content in this blog so please feel free to grab a drink :)

In this loot post the main themes are:
The iDOLM@STER, Boku no Hero Academia, Kantaai Collection, Yukikaze, and fault!

Let's begin!!!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866470.jpeg

This is the bulk of the loot, though it is not everything. There was so many large items that I couldn't get a decent photo of it all!

The iDOLM@STER:
I was able to get my hands on some very rare iM@S items.
The first of which was this beautifully framed and stamped Key Artwork picture.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866476.jpeg
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866484.jpeg
Dubbed "The Power of Smile," this magnificent piece of art really captures the theme of Cinderella Girls. The delicate nature of their outfits, the cheerful expressions on their faces, the rustic nature of the background and the vastness of the stars behind them.
The crystalline nature of the iM@S CG anime is one of the biggest selling points to me and it's so gloriously captured here. The frame measures 25 X 16.

Next is another great framed piece of art:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866477.jpeg
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866483.jpeg
Available only during the 2015 Summer Festival, this lavish photo graph spans 30 inches by 14 inches. A truly grandiose frame with a very personal touch as each idols' autograph is so beautifully printed next to them. The energy associated with this as well as the clarity of the art makes me feel excited inside.

The art continues in these limited edition, lottery only, canvases:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866481.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866475.jpeg

Done by official iM@S CG artist Annindoufu, these canvases were only available to people who purchased every single G4U! Game, filled out a lotto ticket, and won. I have two of them because I accidentally bid on and won two. (if you're interested in buying one please DM me)
The flashy and dynamic poses of the three New Generations girls is gorgeously encapsulated on an 15 x 11 fabric canvas. The vibrancy of the colors cannot be properly contained in photos. Needless to say, I am thoroughly impressed.

The last iDOLM@STER media I have is this B2 poster, brimming with character:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/23/1867312.jpeg
The autographs are so well done (Rankos' is insane) and the metaphor of the girls stepping through a magical doorway to become cinderella girls is so charming. It came a little crinkled but there's nothing like some light ironing out won't fix.

Finally, there is this exclusive event only CD:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866473.jpeg
There's technically only 2 songs on it with each idol individually singing each.

Next on the list is the Boku no Hero haul!

It's not incredibly special but I liked how complete everything was.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866472.jpeg
I think the most unique thing is issue #7 which comes with a drama CD.

Then there are these cool mini shikishi that has most of the main characters:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866471.jpeg
I like All Might the most.

Moving on to another set of things I was happy to finally get:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866479.jpeg
After many delays I finally got Bismarck! They're so cute when you put them together. I'm a fan of the colors to be honest.

-
The next set of items comes from one of my favorite visual novel series! fault by Alice in Dissonance :)
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866478.jpeg
I own so many versions of the game but it was nice to get the comiket exclusive ones along with the adorable artbook.
Then there's the copy of Sora Iro Days. You'd be surprised how hard it is to find a real copy of one these days...
-
-
Next on the list are what are considered mechas but to me they'll always be scale aircraft models like Revells or Hasegawas.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866474.jpeg
The gorgeous Yukikaze variants from the titular anime/OVA of the same name. They're 1/100 scale which means theyre not awfully large but the amount of detail and the customization is beyond words. Alter has always been on top of the intricacies. You can see it very well in their Strike Witches figures but this is on a whole new level. I wish they made more.
-
-
-
In a colorful change of theme I got the entire collection of HappinessCharge Precure DVDs!!!
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/23/1867179.jpeg

This anime has such a special place in my heart because every time I get sad I watch an episode or two. The cheesy cheerful nature and, oh god, the colors have a weird way of cheering me up. Some of the fights aren't bad either.
-
-
-
Last but not least (well some say she's least/useless) is the lazy water goddess:https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2017/11/22/1866482.jpeg
A very large lazy water goddess. I actually really adore this figure. She's HUGE but the details are nice and the box is cute and full of theme.

So that was the loot! I am quite proud of everything and it's sure to keep me entertained for quite a while.

If you're here for the loot then it's ok to stop here! Let me know what you think :)

This next part is a rant so take it as that but *GENUINE* input is truly appreciated.

Now I move on to something a little more serious.
The state of the anime community..
Is it just me or do I feel like the vast majority of people are just trolls? I saw some graffiti at a convention I was at that read "hentai ruined anime" and in a lot ways it was right. Anime has become so closely associated with pure, raw, sex that a lot of great aspects get missed. That and the awful memes people make.
I'm not saying it's all bad obviously. MFC is an incredible place to me. It's one of the safe havens in my eyes (Except the spam and the weird layout.) But as a whole I feel like the anime community has become more mainstream that it's diluted.. at least in the U.S.
In Japan (where I'm from) it's always seemed to stay the same albeit more flashy and a lot bigger. But here in the U.S it just seems like a joke.. I don't know. I'm very confused and quite worried.
I know that the anime community has always been a bit.. alternative(?) but it's gotten a lot worse. I'm also not a fan of how large Crunchyroll has gotten. This is purely a personal opinion but that company gives me really bad vibes. I can't trust it.

Another part of the anime community, the cosplay community, REALLY bothers me. I love cosplaying and having fun but recently it seems like there's been a huge interjection of catty, bitchy, people who are in it to coax patreon money out of lonely people. There's no cohesion or real sense of "community" anymore. Nobody wants to help each other and everyone just feels like they cosplay for instagram likes.

In either case I just needed to get these off my chest because it's a growing issue that's been bugging me for quite a while now.
I'm wholeheartedly curious on peoples thoughts!
Do you have experience in this?
What do you feel is going on?

I hope I coherently stated my point and I didn't make any radical remarks ;n;

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed this philosophical loot post!

**EDIT** Comment is so weird now... I apologize if I'm replying to one person but including someone else in. This new MFC layout is killing me.

anime in japan has been in its very early stage related to hentai, just like most of the other media businesses. and it is not even recent.

well, you join, or not join, or just start your own. or in the unlike case you can build influence to direct them back to the pure way of high correctness.

ghostmuffin2 vuotta sitten#29036119Wow, you were right about this loot post being amazing! I don't know what i like best.. (though ofc i'm bias about the cinderella girls stuff! <3) and those precure dvds, aah ;;w;; did you buy all of those new or were you lucky with a whole lot? oh, and the eugen and bizmarck figures...! do you play kancolle?
as for your discussion about the community, i can't say a whole lot since i tend to keep to myself for the most part, and even then it's all pretty much online for me... and even there there's problems, for sure. X( but i guess that's the case wherever you go, huh..? (also yes, the new MFC layout is... so bad.)

Thank you! :)
I got all the Precure DVDs as one complete set!
I feel like people who are further away from the havoc are pretty lucky :)

Regarding your comments on the anime community itself, I agree to an extent. I think people in general, cosplayers or not, try way too hard to be famous, funny, and relevant. Sometimes, the memes and other content are genuinely funny, but other times its painfully obvious that said person is trying to be some kind of comedian or troll.

As a veteran cosplayer myself, I do feel like some aspects of the cosplay community have taken a turn for the worse due to skyrocketing popularity, but that's simply what happens when such a large influx of people become interested in something that used to be obscure. Its not that nasty people didn't exist in the early 2000's, there were just a lot less of them. Now you have plenty of people jockeying to be the next Yaya Han, some of whom are not very nice, and they are inevitably going to butt heads with other fame-seekers and regular cosplayers alike. You also have the fanboy crowd who will only idolize a select few "perfect" cosplayers and completely miss out on all of the other great costumes people have to offer simply because they don't look a certain way, don't always wear a sexy costume, etc. With that said, I met some of the best friends I've ever known in my life at Anime Expo 2014. All you can do is ignore the negativity and focus on what has changed in our community for the better. We have access to SO MANY different titles now, many of which are running at the same time as they are in Japan, which was unheard of when most of us were wee 14 year old Naruto fans. Cosplayers have endless resources for patterns, wigs, materials, tutorials, you name it - something that simply wasn't a thing 15 years ago.

Continue to have fun, because that is ultimately what's important. Surround yourself with good, positive people and don't worry about anyone else. In the end, we're all still nerds at an anime convention.

Ahhh, thank you!
They're gorgeous and it's art that's not seen anywhere else so that was the biggest selling point for me.
One is still available if you ever feel like getting one :3

SilverJinx2 vuotta sitten#28926735You're good! I don't think your thoughts are elitist. I think you're dead on with that. Anime in the U.S is in a VERY weird place. Two events really felt..odd to me. Crunchyroll's con and NY Anime last weekend. I saw some companies go in there and everything felt so uh.. whitewashed? I'm not sure if thats the proper term but I never felt comfortable when they replaced whole show titles in English, etc. Might just be a personal thing though.
Or maybe it's the same way you felt about GITS.
As for exposure, its a great thing but how people are getting exposed might just be the problem here. I'm almost certain that 90% of non anime watchers see those hentai shit posts and have some sort of negative opinion about anything remotely similar haha.
Netflix was great on Little Witch Academia and the sorts which I appreciated. Who knows what the future entails? Maybe the future is like a pendulum you know? Could swing either way.
Thanks for the response!!

Oh thank goodness lol I was really worried I was coming off as on of those elitist anime fans. The Crunchyroll con came off as odd to me too. Like a con for a streaming service??? Netflix Con? Hulu Con??? Wha?!
I feel you on the titles. Or when they change the title completely. It would be a good way to bring exposure to Japanese language or culture but theyre destroying that opportunity. I am not a fan of dubs already, but I will admit there are some good ones.
I guess too, its kind of hurtful/annoying to see people who didnt give 2 shits about anime a few years ago, jumping on the "trend".
I TOTALLY agree on it swinging either way!

bambipie2 vuotta sitten#28907892I sort of think the US anime community is in a weird place, I guess you could say?
Like just a few years ago, it was really taboo to like anime. If you liked it, you were considered weird and people would make fun of you for it. Or alienated you. Even having keychains on your bag was enough to draw attention to yourself.
But within the last 2 years or so, it has become extremely mainstream. People who previously bashed you for watching anime are talking about watching anime themselves. All the Hollywood adaptations of anime are sort of rubbing me the wrong way. To take a great work like Ghost in the Shell and then totally shit all over it, was awful. I find it so strange too, that you can walk into the mall, go to Hot Topic and buy a bunch of anime merchandise, when a few years ago this was totally unthinkable. You had to go to specialty stores, go to Little Tokyo, or order it.
Its sort of normalized but at the same time, it kind of feels strange, at least to someone who has been into anime for at least 20 years.
It is great that people are getting exposed to more wonderful works of anime, instead of hentai and childrens anime. The simulcast is also pretty awesome. Netflix is also a becoming a big influence in bringing different anime offerings that arent Naruto or DBZ, as well. So there are some refreshing aspects.
I dont have any feelings of being elitist so I hope I dont come off that way. On one hand, its pretty cool to see anime becoming a normal thing and seeing it everywhere is awesome. On the other hand, it feels very odd?
SORRY I RAMBLED. I guess I have a lot of thoughts on this that I havent articulated ahah
