Hi everyone! I was recently browsing Mandarake and I stumbled across some funny auto-translated product names. Like "milestone jerk and come figure collection La Beaute Date Kage Senran Kagura: 2 degrees Paste [Hikage]" for ITEM #183952.

It got me to thinking... this hobby has a lot of potential for hilarious translation errors. The product descriptions on places like Hobby Search (many of which are auto translated) can be comic gold, such as "-A flash of thrust! [My wife's good -Thunder breathing-] appeared in Figuarts ZERO." for the product page of ITEM #931677.

So, what are some of the funniest translations you've found? It can be from websites, fan subs, anything!

kyoshinhei6 kuukautta sitten#76016277One example I remember was "Girls und Panzer" (ガールズ&パンツァー) being translated as something like "Girls & panties a"
To be fair, in the earlier episodes, Saori did think that Miho said "パンツアホ" (pantsu-aho) instead of panzer-vor :)

I was about to point to Amazon.co.jp that auto-translates all product names (usually badly) when you set the site interface in English but it seems that they've stopped doing it.

Zenmarket auto-translates Ozymandias' name (Fate character) to "Uncle Man Diaz" and it cracks me up every time.

Aaah... I bought this figure ITEM #735367 last week and I couldn't help but laugh at how Mandarake's automatic translation system translated Yuusei's name.
View spoilerHide spoiler"not working planetary"

View spoilerHide spoilerAlthough it does make sense that it would translate that way considering his full name is 不動 (Fudou) 遊星 (Yuusei). The character 不, when used before a word or a verb, usually has the same meaning as our 'un-something, something' or 'non-something, something'. As for 動, to make it simple, is part of the verb 'to move' (動く). So by combining 不 and 動, it becomes 'inanimate', I guess? But 'not working' is definitely funny. It sounds like he's a broken man, hahaha!! XD

As for why 'Yuusei' was translated to 'planetary', I feel like it's simply because of the second character of his name, which is 星 (star) and which relates to the cosmic theme of the show as well. The first character 遊 ('Yuu' in 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' and also part of the verb 'to play' (遊ぶ)) is the same component for every YGO main characters' name like the 'Yuu' in Yu(u)gi, Yu(u)ma, Yu(u)saku, etc., and I wouldn't dig any deeper than that.

I think it was Amazon Japan where someone left a bad review for the Persona 4 Adachi figure. When it auto translated I died laughing when part of it said "My anger is one cup".

dandybaby6 kuukautta sitten#76015663Mandarake will correct any of their weird machine translations if you PM their Facebook team about it. This one was probably the funniest I've ever come across:

Pretty sure you don't have to buy a badge set to take control of a stupid man. The media's pretty good at that already. But hey, whatever works! lol jk

I really wish I could find this Japanese Medabots wiki I used years ago. According to Google translate, one of the characters was called "Nasty Princess." That makes me laugh every time.

ZoidsFanatic26 kuukautta sitten#76015635A Tamaki I have actually had the word “figure” misspelled on the box. If I recall it was “fiugre” or something.
One time when I was a kid I had these fireworks (the kind you throw on the ground and they pop) and for the instructions it said "Hard thew on groud."

Your username reminded me of a translation error in the GC game Zoids: Battle Legends where they misspell Moonbay's name 3 different ways. I think it was like "Moonbey" "Moonbeay" and "Mooney" or something. That game was full of typos.
