I use google page translate. Not for searches, but only for product info page. You cant use English words in the search.

I just copy the Japanese names from MFC or wikis etc and paste into Rakuten search. Its not difficult. However, your main problem will be to get a Japanese address from Tenso/White Rabbit etc and to fill it in on Rakuten. Why? Because not all sellers ship internationally, eg: AmiAmi.
Tenso has a tutorial on filling Japanese address.

PS: I always ship from Rakuten to Tenso. It costs me 300-400yen extra, but then I get to undervalue the price at Tenso. My shipments are always EMS. Now if you are into saving every penny and cost or buy lots, my way is not for you.

Also, I dont use Paypal. You better ask the pros here that buy loots etc, they will guide you better. Anyway, now isnt the best time to do shopping.(covid)

BlueRain4 kuukautta sitten#77914769Global was and is pathetic. Items that are available on Rakuten Ichiba Jp arent even available on Global. And if they are, the prices are usually slightly jacked up.
Anyway, why is the closure of Global such a big deal? The Jp version has it's own international shipping now-> Rakuten Global Express.

NemsEngelAceSasu4 kuukautta sitten#77914828Its precisely that its 'won't shipping is only EMS and the likes. Kinda kills the use of it for all the small and cheap things like gashapon and prize figures.
My bad. I always use Tenso so that I can undervalue. So I never thought of small things shipped by means other than EMS. But then again, I dont live in far off USA or EU.

noctisity4 kuukautta sitten#77936824Private couriers like FedEx/DHL/UPS do have their own planes/boats which is why they're still operating without as many issues. But this is also the reason why they are significantly more expensive since they're not dependent on commercial flights the way the regular postal service is. I think a lot of countries have stopped accepting international mail as well.
    I see. That makes sense.

ProbablyANinja4 kuukautta sitten#77916177I did not know that, actually. I had figured they had dedicated flights for mail.

Calvusxe1tz4 kuukautta sitten#77914774You do realize that the lack of flights are because of the lack of travelers don't you? This is not going to change soon. Also international sales are probably a large part of their business.

global rakuten is only suffering because of proxy services, not because of covid. How much does it cost to run a website of your japanese version? The global version is just google translate
