Hello fellow figure collectors!

I've written a few figure reviews in the past, but now I've decided that I'd like to take the time to write a review for all my scale figures. This is partly just to get my thoughts on my more expensive figures out (since there isn't really anyone in my life I can share these things with) and partly because a number of the scale figures I own don't have reviews and I'd like to contribute that to MFC since one of the first things I do when considering a purchase is to look at reviews. It might take me a while to find the time to write them all, but I plan on getting through it.

First up is perhaps a more obscure figure, but I just got her today and that excitement has inspired me to review her. It's Kuro Usagi (or Black Rabbit) from Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? (Problem Children are Coming from Another World, Aren't They?). This light novel series inspired a 10 episode anime adaption, which is how I was introduced to it, and is one of my favorite anime to this day. In my opinion a very underrated anime, and if you're into isekai such as No Game No Life, Sword Art Online or Konosuba like myself then it's a must watch.

Onto the actual figure... ITEM #147115

This is a 1/7 scale by Alphamax, and is a bit of an older figure having been released in 2013. There is an alternate version ITEM #146266 which is identical but with pink hair (in the anime her hair changes from blue to pink when she powers up for a fight).

I'll be honest, I had my expectations pretty low for this figure. I only really bought her because of how much I loved the anime and this is the only figure from that anime. None of the pictures of her really captivated me or anything but she's also on the cheaper end for a scale figure so I decided to go for it. I'm really glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed her. I don't think any of the photos I saw really captured how good she looks (and I'm not sure I've managed to accomplish that with the photos I've taken).

I really like her face, her head is actually quite large compared to my other 1/7 scale figures, despite her body seeming slightly smaller. I do find the eyes a little flat in color, I wish they had been a little brighter but I still think it looks good.

Her dress is nothing too special, the black part has a nice shine and the frills give it a nice touch of texture.

I quite like how the skirt flares out like this, it really makes it look like she's jumping. The legs also look nice with the stockings (is that what they're called?)

I love figures with long hair in dynamic positions and this is exactly that. The skirt and hair both flaring out really give the impression of being at the apex of a jump. The hair is also translucent towards the ends which I think looks nice, and you can see her little tail poking out of her skirt.

One thing I had read as a major flaw of this figure is the fact that rather than have the support keeping her in the air attach directly to the figure, there's just an elevated small platform for her to sit on with nothing really keeping her there, and it's unstable.

You just sit her knees on this precarious stand and hope she doesn't fall... I literally knocked her off (and caught her thankfully) like 5 times taking these pictures. Admittedly, if you don't touch her she sits on it without too much trouble, but it doesn't take much to throw her off balance. I've seen people display her just kneeling on the ground instead but I personally think that looks a little weird given that's she's meant to look like she's at the apex of a jump. Thankfully the shelf I have her on is built into the structure of my house, it couldn't shake without an earthquake, but I would not be comfortable putting her on a bookcase or anything else that has even a small amount of shaking or shifting if you bump into it.

The only other nitpick I would have about this figure is that her right hand is in a kind of awkward position. It partially blocks her face when viewing from most angles.

This pose is meant to imitate the cover of volume 1 of the light novel series, but I think it would have been better to raise that right hand just a bit to keep the face unobstructed.

A quick 360 of this figure in the spoiler

Overall like I said, pleased with this figure. It obviously doesn't hold up to today's best figure standards in terms of details and painting, but it's a seven year old figure and I think it's pretty good value for the price. I'm very happy to have representation from one of my favorite shows in my figure collection.

*BONUS* Here's an amateur edited photo where I try to make her look nice

PanchitoMatte2 kuukautta sitten#78639800I guess this figure's stand design predates the ingenuity of recent figures, such as ITEM #549367, ITEM #236133, and ITEM #740109. I've always been a tiny bit nervous about earthquakes; I can only imagine how I would feel with a figure that "stood" like that! Ha
Haha thankfully we don't get earthquakes where I live, if we did I'd be constantly worried about my figures XD

Archiwheel2 kuukautta sitten#78639976Interesting review. I also own this figure, the pink hair version, and she was my first figure. I was very satisfied with the quality.
Mine sits pretty well on her pole, of course if I don't bump her or the shelf she sits on!

Glad to hear yours sits well, perhaps it's just that she is less stable than any other figure I've owned that she seems so unstable to me haha

I always liked the design of this figure, with the bold black and red outfit and the lively pose. I'd never even looked at what the source media was, though.

Thanks for sharing!
