Hello, all my lovelies.

Today, I'd like to bring up the topic of COMICS.
So, do you like any comic books?

Personally, I have too great a number to list.
One of my favourite comics is "The Sandman" by Neil Gaiman.
This series is just beautiful.
The writing, art, characters, everything. It is all brilliant.
I can't recommend this comic book enough.

I would like to start collecting more statues from my favourite comics.
I only have Kotobukiya Bishoujo statues of my two favourite female villians.
I really want to look into statues that aren't so "bishoujo" and cute- produced by US companies.
The price ain't so cute either.

Looks like my dear Morpheus is telling me to shut up now.
So, what kind of comics do you like? What would you recommend?
Do you collect figures of characters from comics?

If you enjoy Sandman, I'd suggest something like Fables - only because it stays in a very 'fantasy' genre.

I'm mostly a Green Lantern Corp fan (and everything in between - red, blue, violent, etc lanterns) as I like how vast the universe is but the new Batman is fairly well written (Synder's books - Court of Owls, etc) so I've been following that. I went to HeroesCon and went to the Batman panel w/the authors of the new 52 stuff and decided to try Batman Detective comics but I found them somewhat lacking.

My favorite all time series (which will be coming out in a hardback omnibus finally) is Planetary by Warren Ellis; I always recommend it to people who enjoy a 'darker' comic book experience. It's about an investigative team ("Archaeologists of the Impossible") that investigate strange phenomenon (monsters, aliens, cults, etc), unusual relics, and military secrets.

I always suggest any by Ben Templesmith if you need anything just out of the left field/weird, like his Wormwood or the newer 10 Grand (which is coming along nicely) comics; he's mostly known for 30 Days of Night since it came out as a Hollywood flick some time back.

Trying my hardest to get back into X-men but find it sorely lacking (especially Uncanny being written by Bendis - I love Bendis but man, is it a hard sell); I do enjoy New Mutants though (mostly due to being a fan of Magik).

Good luck with the comic figure collecting; 90% of my collection is based on comic books, lol. I have 9 Sideshow statues, one Hard Hero, 1 DC Direct, and 4 bishoujos. I have 2 Sideshow's on order w/flex pay but they're not coming out until 2014. :(

While the price tag can be..overwhelming, a lot of places do allow flex-pay options which greatly help. I pay like, 50/month? it's not terrible - just can't buy new video games all the time now.

I consider myself a comic fan. I haven't read the ones that first come to mind: batman, superman, etc...

But I simply adore Alan Moore's works. V for Vendetta, The Swamp Thing, From Hell, The Watchmen...

I also have quite a few of the Doctor Who comics from the 80's.

Watchmen is my favorite by far *o*

I wanna get my hands on those Rocky Horror Picture Show ones..

I look forward to acquiring more comic books.

I also wanted to collect Kotobukiya Bishoujo statues but although it's Shunya's it's kinda out of place for my collections...

________________________________

I collect comics back in the days 90's... like there's no more tomorrow... mostly from Marvel, Image, Top Cow, some from DC, Valiant and Impact...

Until I shifted to animes...

Last comic book I read was Witchblade Takeru... if you consider that a comic book... but it's more of a manga...

Books are better ^^

If you prefer books, then I would recommend Neil Gaiman as a writer. Not only is he a comic writer, but a novel writer as well. His works are amazing: www.neilgaiman.....
You may have heard of him before because he has done Coraline and Stardust. I will also recommend you Sandman because that comic is suited for anyone. It's very imaginative and, once again, the writing it top-notch. I gave it as a gift to a friend who isn't much of a comic reader and she loved it.

SpaceDyeVest7 vuotta sitten#1664127I grew up reading comics (this was the mid-80's, so they were really popular back then). I still have some of them from about 30 years ago...Spiderman, X-Men, etc. I couldn't see reading them now as an adult, but that was the stuff awesome childhoods were made of.

Haha, funny enough, my dad still reads them and he is in his late 40s. He has an entire collection and still keeps it going. He's like a big little kid.

Cupcakez89 The quiet one
I used to really be into Deadpool comics a couple of years back, but I started falling behind and he gained a ton more popularity so I just kinda quit after a while :/ Just couldn't keep up with so many new issues coming out lol

I love comics! (I just picked up Death: Time of Your Life, actually - the Sandman is a great series!). I really enjoy the Bat family's comics - more recently, I read Batwoman vol 1: Hydrology and Batwoman vol 2: To Drown the World. I'm also a fan of Cassandra Cain Batgirl and X-23 on the Marvel side...I just like superheroines in general. People have recommended Y: The Last Man as well and I remember some issues of The Walking Dead, but those are both comics I need to get back to or start.

As for the Koto Bishoujo figures, I really need to pick up X-23 (out of character cute face and all) and preorder Psylocke. I'd love to get my hands on the blue suited classic Batgirl, but I haven't seen her in awhile.
