Difficult to give a good answer on your question. From what i read in your blog post i got the feeling that you are searching for a doll in a certain price category but that you also don’t have a complete picture of what you exactly want. Pureneemo is a great doll to start with and i would definitely recommend it if it is your taste. The BJD world is bigger than you would expect and i think that maybe a doll from another brand would fit your taste (there are so many types. And still i discover brands i have never heard of). 1/3 dolls for a price of 200 or less is not doable. The only way to do that is to buy a blank doll and buying the eyes, wig, outfit etc. later. This also means that the doll has no face up or body blushing (body blushing depends on your personal taste). For a first doll this is not recommend.
I am also new to the BJD hobby and i started with researching what is available and what do i expect. What i mean with that is that you shouldn’t rush to buy a doll for the sake of owning one. Also a lot of dolls are bought in the made to order way. In other words when you buy a doll the doll isn’t available yet and some months are passing by before you actually have it. Currently i am waiting for a full set (full set is a term for a complete doll with the wig and outfit) doll made by Doll Chateau. It will take for this company 6 months to make it. And this company is no exception. If a smaller scale is no problem then you got some more options. The 1/8 scale Kid Delf dolls are looking cute if you can live with a relatively high price for a small doll. If you don’t have an account on DenofAngels yet i highly recommend that too. A lot of dolls are not allowed on this site like the Pureneemo but you will find a lot of information about how to buy and decide on a doll, What the possibilities are, Which companies exists and which buying sites are reliable. In the short time that i follow this site i learned a lot about dolls. You could also look into this club: CLUB #1782 . This club really helped me out with my first doll.
Now that i think of it, this blog BLOG #33583 changed my opinion on dolls and encouraged me to search for the doll that fits my expectations and taste. Don’t be afraid to take your time and looking into dolls of brands you don’t know. Make clear for yourself what you want and what your taste is. The creativity in this hobby is endless and there is a lot possible (Danny Choo from Smart dolls is working on a doll that can move her head and arms for example, i love that idea already).
And yet i almost forgot the most important part: have fun with the search for your doll. By a lot of dolls wigs and eyes are replaceable. If you like the head and body type but don’t like the wig or eyes (eye colour are by some companies random, I didn’t decide that, and yes even the full set i ordered have the eye colour decided at random) the doll still can matches with your taste. So don’t let that scare you. I hope that you can make a decision that makes you happy and i love to see which doll you choose.

I've recently gotten into 3d printing and I've seen files for BJD. I wouldn't want to print them in PLA (which is what I currently print in) but the next 3d printer I get will have the ability to print in resin. My current printer can print in ABS if I add an enclosure. I think either of those materials might be suitable to printing your own doll or paying someone who has that type of machine to do it or something. If you like customized stuff, I think this would be super fun since you could pick out the hair and eyes and clothes plus make customizations to the doll before printing. I also think it would be fun to design and sew your own clothes, but I know not everyone likes the craft side of things.

Welcome to the doll community! ♡

The doll hobby is truely amazing and a lot of fun! But keep in mind that it definitely is an expensive hobby >w< Not only the dolls are costly; clothing, accessories, face up materials add up too!

PureNeemos are certainly a good start if you want to get into it without dropping too much money from the start. Their size makes them easier to maintain as well and they're great to carry around!

My biggest advice would be to research research research beforehand, especially when it comes to BJDs, DDs or Smart Dolls!

If you ever need any help, feel free to ask, I love the Doll hobby and PureNeemos & 1/6 dolls are my jam ♡

They are all easily available for original retail price which is below 150 USD, so I'm not sure what you mean. Dollfies are generally more expensive than pureneemo and the like so I don't think you can find one of those for less than 200 USD. Especially not if you want a 1/3. Your best bet would be to join dolldreaming.com and ask users over there how they budget this and where they usually find their dolls for reasonable prices, since most people on this website are more into collecting statues etc.

ah thank you! i tend to skim manda and solaris from time to time though last i checked i never saw them for msrp or below so i guess i just dont look hard enough @_@

when i saw one hit $230 when its original was about ~$130 i just kinda half heartedly kept looking. but thank you again..ill check out the listings and dolldreaming!! ^^
