I keep all of my figures currently in my office/computer room as I spend most of my time there so I have them close to me! Other merch such as tapestries can be found almost everywhere else as well :)

My bedroom. I live with my parents (and younger brother), so everything I own, all the stuff in all of my collections, are confined to being in my bedroom. Which is why I have to be somewhat picky with what I actually buy off of my wishlist while I still live in this house.

My office which I picked, out of all the rooms in the house, because it gets the least amount of sunlight. I'm not about letting my collection prematurely age / yellow / fade if I can help.

Whenever I go to Kinokuniya NYC, it killllls me to see the figures on the 2nd floor where the windows are (next to the Cafe Zaiya). Like, bruh, some of those boxes and figures sitting right in the sun fade and yellow so quickly. Why would I want to buy an already overpriced figure that looks like it's been sunbleached? D:

There is nothing worse then having something shoved front and center in your face. She does not not like them but she sure does not love them like I do so out of respect I put them in the basement where I created their own environment.
As you go down our stairs and get to the landing I set up a temporary Lack shelf with boxes of figurines I have yet to take out and display.

I flanked the Detolfs on either side creating a corridor to walk through and admire the figurines. I hope that you do find a location that will suit both you and your husbands tastes and wants. By the way even if they say you can display them in the living room in all honesty they will smile but it is often a fake smile. They hate the ideal but will go along with it because they love you.
Save yourself some stress and put them in a location where they can still be admired but that is not front and center.

My anime room is an office off the master bedroom. Before we moved into this house it was just in an extra bedroom.

I’m also married with a husband who is not an anime fan!

I keep most of mine in our living room, but I do have one display case in our dining room and some other figures in our office.

Since we keep all of our books in the living room, including manga, it's not like someone is going to walk into our house and not realize that we're into nerdy stuff. It just made the most sense to put my figures there. Also, I'm proud of my collection and I like to show it off. As far as I'm concerned, if guests have a problem with it then they are welcome to leave.

That said, neither my husband nor I work in fields where it's expected to invite your boss or coworkers over for dinner. I think it would be considered weird if either of us did that. And neither of us really see our co-workers outside of work. So it doesn't hurt our professional image at all to keep whatever items we like in the visible areas of our house.

The only think I try to be sensitive about is not keeping ecchi figures where everyone can see them. I usually keep them in our office or bedroom so we'll be the only ones who can enjoy them. We don't want our family members to think that our house isn't an appropriate place to bring their kids.

My husband really didn't care where I put my figures. As far as he was concerned, as long as he had a place for all of his board games then he didn't care what I did with the rest of the house. Hopefully you and your husband will be able to come to a compromise.
