I think i got a bad one. His head does not fit on his torso at all. The place where his neck is supposed to connect with the torso is still visible even though i pushed it in so hard.
Also his scul thingie on the heat is the wrong side :‘D
Oh and his hand looks like its brokem because all fingures point inwards.
He looks so horroible right noe, really sad because otherwise hes really well done.

maggie (6 kuukautta sitten) #32392892Just posted a bunch of photos for you! His scale is just about exactly the same as the crouching one you mentioned, though he's taller because he's not down on his knees as much.
I like this Ace a lot because they took a classic shot of him from alabasta (actually was his wanted poster for a bit too), but instead of copying it exactly with his bag, they gave him the alabasta coat and scarf. That way it differentiates from the KOA crouching Ace since that one had a backpack. So, we're not getting the same thing over and over. Though the outfit isn't 100% accurate to that moment I like that they changed it so we get his Alabasta coat :-3
This figure is SO WELL SCULPTED. I'm rather shocked. The texture for the crinkles in the hat, the boots, the coat and the pants... really all the fabrics, are exceptionally informative. Everything has creases where they should be for worn in leather boots, the hat, the coat. Just wonderful. I don't really see sculptors apply this kind of reality to One Piece figures, and though I usually like figures that are spot-on for accuracy (to the original art), I immensely appreciate scultures and sculpts like this. Where folds and fabrics aren't just BS'd and same-y.
Additionally, the piecing out on this to help eradicate seam lines is stunning. There are mold lines up the front of his legs, and you can find them when you look on other parts, but altogether the whole figure fits together flawlessly. No gaps, no awkward glue, and he stands like a tank. No wobbling, no warping. Just totally solid. This is honestly one of the most accurate prototype->final that I've ever seen for Banpresto.
My *ONLY* gripe is that they didn't make his log pose clear like they did on the squatting one. I find the bright teal distracting. His right hand as a fist has an odd interpretation of a skin fold, but oh well.
JUST BUY IT.

I am very glad to know that he is about the same scale as the crouching Ace and that it lives to the full potential of the KOA series. Thanks for the review and pictures; they really helped alot :) Much appreciated!

ps: by the way, very nice pictures <3

samkaizoku (6 kuukautta sitten) #32285363If it is OK with you, can you post pictures of him please? I am still conflicted as to whether it is good or not.
How does it compare to this one ITEM #307151 ? I LOVED that crouching Ace because it is Ace all-over and the size just fits perfectly with my 1/8 POP One Piece Collection <3

maggie (6 kuukautta sitten) #31730017Got him today!! I haven’t gotten an Ace figure in quite some time (because I already have like a hundred of them lol) but I couldn’t resist this pose, this outfit.
I like this figure a lot, he stands well, the details are impressive, and he was only $14 (shipping included!!). Comparing the finished product to the original Banpresto displayed, it’s exactly the same. Well done.
To me so much better than the dungheaps Megahouse is churning out with no relation to the manga or anime.
