SmishedBut with you being Italian you've got to be right surely =3 Maybe it's just different in our two countries?
Mmmm after your explanation I made some research and I discovered that the name comes from "cooked twice".
Today, as I knew, all kinds of cookies are called "biscotti" or "frollini" in italian language (the frist one is the common use), but in the past they've called with that name due to the reason you gave us :D
So... we're both right... and thank you for information! I would probably never informed about the origin of the name without your suggestions :)

MastraCustomAhaahah, sorry my friend, probably you used an online translator :) Bis means "twice", and cotti means "cooked", so you matched them wrongly :)
I'm Italian, so I know that "biscotti" means "cookies" ;)

Nope I study catering x3 I was making them the other day and the chef told me it mean twice baked due to them are baked twice before they are done so that there is no excess moisture in them X3 But with you being Italian you've got to be right surely =3 Maybe it's just different in our two countries?
